Nowadays, you can’t head down to the local supermarket or gym without coming across a whole lot of in-store advertising with everyone spruiking their “amazing” products and services. Now while some of these marketing efforts stand out for all the good reasons, a lot of them simply fall flat.
Why is that?
Clever marketing involves many different strategies all aimed at appealing to a specific set of people, and aimed to incite a specific behaviour in that set – whether it be encouraging brand loyalty, purchasing a product, signing up for a service, considering the brand among its competitors next time they make a purchase, etc.
Clever marketing requires clever strategies.
If you are considering purchasing one of our portable banners, then you also need to think about which behaviour that you want to incite in the people that it reaches.
If you would like for them to learn more about your brand, products, or services, then you might like to add brochure holders so that they can access this information later in their own time. Instead of having all the same flyer, why not have a few different ones, perhaps tailored to different audiences?
If you would like for them to make a purchase it is best to print the exact deal that you would like them to buy on the banner itself. Make very clear the benefits of going through with the purchase right now – whether it’s saving money, an additional gift, a limited time offer, or an exclusive product. This will instil a sense of urgency in the customer, as they know that it is either a good deal, or they will miss out on it the next time around.
If it’s simply brand loyalty that you’re going for, a beautifully designed, glossy banner with graphics capturing the essence of your brand that really speaks to your customers, with adequate branding of course, goes down a treat. Think like a beauty brand, or an alcohol brand, they really like for customers to identify strongly with their advertising. This is the exact effect that you are after in this instance.
Of course, another great way to do in-store marketing is to have a brand representative present to approach customers and get them to interact. Your representative should be the sort of person that you’d like to be targeting for your campaign, not just anyone available from the company. Combining a representative trained in speaking about your brand message with an exciting and targeted display is the perfect way to achieve your marketing goals.
Don’t just stumble into your marketing efforts head first. Sit down and work out what your goals are for each campaign and the best strategies to employ to interact with your audience.
